Little is known about the biology of the Pine Woolly Aphid Pineus pini (Adelgidae). This pest, a close relative of plant lice or aphids (Aphididae) attacks various species of Pinus. Pineus pini, also known as P. laevis was apparently introduced accidentally from Queensland with grafting scions. The imposed quarantine restrictions were successful so that the pest could not establish and spread in PNG.
